Get out of my way, you twat
So driving to work this morning (yes i know i should cycle but its 26 miles each way, and riding from winchester is plain scary). My commute in involves some fairly narrow roads, which isnt a problem, even though my car is fairly wide - see here. However, in two weeks i cant say i've had a problem with it being large, probably due to the fact that i'm an aware driver, and (hopefully) not a moron, and in the scheme of things its not that big.
So this morning when i had to reverse back along a country lane a fair distance because someone in a new range rover was blocking the entire road, and she couldnt see to reverse because of her "its to protect little jimmy" machine, i kind of lost my rag.
I mean FFS, if you live in a small country area, with small country roads, why the hell would you buy a vehicle that basically makes all roads one way?
Idiocy?
Because it makes you feel big as you force someone who cant afford a range rover into a ditch?
Thats another thing - If i was driving an off-road capable vehicle on a country lane (which i have, many times), and i saw another person in a standard road going car, (say me in my old civic, or my pug), i would feel it was my perogative to let them have the road (and not drag their low slung vehicles along the edge of the road and ditch, through the long grass), whilst i used my vehicle to a small amount of its off-road potential and moved over onto the verge.
How come no other bastard will do that? Nearly every morning im forced off the road because some twat doesnt know how wide there car is, and even if they did, they are too stupid and vain to ever risk getting their off-roaders tyres dirty
"PAH SMALL USELESS, OBVIOUSLY LAZY AND UNDERACHIEVING PERSON IN THEIR NORMAL CAR - I WILL CRUSH THEM AS THEY DON'T DESERVE TO OCCUPY THE SAME ROAD AS ME"
I might buy a £50 soon-to-be MOT failure wreck for a week of getting to work and see how much paint, wing-mirrors and trim i can collect on its right hand side by not allowing them to force me off the road :-)
Actually sod that, they probably own all the lawyers, or are lawyers, or are lawyers wifes.
if its a 4x4 it should come with scratches and dents anyway, its the law
Bastards

Nice rant :)
It really gets on my tits!
thanks :-)
Good Work.
they HAVE to have a 4x4 or they'll look like a right poor scrubber when they drop Tarquin at preschool.
And they think the higher the vehicle the more class you have.. They should buy a bin lorry.
You're right about the "MOT failure" bit - it's French!
